The Wastenot.dk Manifesto

1. Food waste and food loss is unfair, a waste of resources, and bad for the environment.
2. We need to reduce food waste significantly
3. We need to reduce food loss significantly
4. Nothing will happen if we are not aware of and systematic about it
5. The wastenot.dk method is one such way of being systematic and aware about it
6. To do this, a continuous commitment and effort is required!
7. The main focus of the developed world should be on the consumer side (food waste) and in the developing world on the production side (food loss)
8. We must all work together to make this happen in order to create a just and sustainable future for all of us, but it begins with you and me!

As part of getting this movement/fellowship going, and trying to think things through, I am in the process of writing a manifesto, nothing less :) !

The idea is quite simple, for each of the topics that I feel is necessary to have thought about, I will write about it in the manifesto.

The manifesto will be published as a book and an e-book, and all revenues will go to wastenot.dk. The pricing of the book as well as the e-book will be such that, if you don’t have any money, you can get both at cost (ie 0 for the e-book, and printing and p&p for the book on paper), but if you can afford more, then this is one of the ways to support us, and having paid for a book, actually makes it more likely that you will read it!
